Catherine A. Barber, Esq.
Catherine A. Barber, Of Counsel to the firm, practices in the areas of civil and criminal appeals, and litigation and administrative matters involving municipal law, education law, performing arts, civil rights, zoning and land use, and professional discipline.
Ms. Barber received her Bachelor of Music in Music Performance, cum laude, from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She received her Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame Law School. Prior to entering private practice, Ms. Barber was a Law Clerk to the Hon. Juan G. Burciaga, U.S. District Court for the District of New Mexico, and a trial attorney with the Department of Justice, Civil Division, in Washington, D.C.
Ms. Barber is admitted to practice in New York, District of Columbia, and New Mexico. She is also admitted to practice before the United States Court of Federal Claims and the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
Ms. Barber is also a professional violinist, performing with Schenectady Symphony Orchestra and various other local groups, and is a member of American Federation of Musicians, Local No. 14. Ms. Barber is also a member and cuurently Vice-President of the Guilderland Central School District Board of Education.
